Free Cybersecurity Certification Study Hours This Spring

EVANSTON, WY — A local cybersecurity firm is bringing free professional certification study support to Uinta County this spring. Sturnella, a capital markets cybersecurity advisory firm founded and based in Evanston, Wyoming, will host free office hours to help community members prepare for the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) exam from April through June 2026.

The CC credential is an entry-level cybersecurity certification from ISC2, one of the world’s leading cybersecurity professional organizations. It requires no prior experience or prerequisites, making it one of the most accessible on-ramps into a field that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects will grow significantly faster than average over the next decade.

The initiative was sparked by Sturnella's participation in JumpStart Evanston 2026, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce’s eight-week entrepreneurship education program. When asked what support she would use to give back to the community, Sturnella HQ founder Sydnie had a straightforward answer: one sponsored exam fee.

The program’s launch also aligns with the International Women’s Day 2026 theme, Give To Gain — a worldwide campaign encouraging generosity and collaboration as tools for advancing gender equality. For Sturnella HQ, the connection is intentional.

Office hours will be held in person in Evanston on a schedule to be announced as interest develops. Sessions are open to all Uinta County residents, regardless of background or experience level. There is no cost to attend.
